How to remove a jumper/expansion pak from an N64

In this video I show off how to easily remove the expansion pak or jumper pak from your Nintendo 64.

After a 5 year search, I managed to find an Expansion Pak for only $40 on eBay and when it arrived I thought I was screwed until I found the tool. This video saved me a lot of annoyance and frustration! Super hyped to play DK64 and Majoras Mask after so many years!

Dude I never have taken the pack out my n64, the original sticker is still on it. Tried to start my system back up for the first time since a kid and couldn’t get it to work after an hour of trying different cables and tvs. This fixed it immediately. Thank you!

Never had to do this until I got the exp pak today, couldn't work out what to do until I saw this. I did it with the butter knife. Feeling a bit of a fool considering how easy it was! Thank you so much anyway!

Saved my life, thanks to this i could remove my jumper pak and detect some scratches on its connection, which might explain why my n64 was turning off randomly by itself. Bought a replacement jumper pak, now let's wait until it arrives.

I needed an Expansion Pak for my copy of DK64, so naturally I ordered through DKOldies. Well I just recieved my Expansion Pak, Perfect Dark & Goden Eye in the mail. Thank You DKOldies! Time to switch out that Jumper Pak & get to business. 🕹😜🎮

Another idea for pulling the jumper pak out is to use the end of a retractable tape measure. You can slip the hook on the end under the lip and pull it out quite easily. Also avoids putting any pressure on the console's shell, as you can pull straight up.

Tip! Use the short side of the cover on the bottom of the console :)

I bought one of the expansion paks off Ebay when they first came out with Perfect Dark and when I got it, the fucker had taken the red cover off a real pak and used blu tack to stick it onto a Jumper Pak which is what they'd sent me in the mail. Expansion Paks were always expensive. Still are.

I have some kind of weird pak with a silver metal part on top. Maybe a 3rd party expansion? Games act like it’s the expansion pak but it doesn’t look like one. I can’t pull it out and I have the tool
