Dude, if you're building or adding to a home in your "gated community" you aren't like the rest of us.

It's because people over value white collar jobs and under value construction trades. That's why there is a shortage. They go to a trade school and learn valuable skills but are payed a fraction of what a tech worker makes.People need to realize that construction trades are the ones that build your grocery stores, offices and homes etc.

What about building a manufactured or pre-fab home? I believe they don't depreciate as long as you build the house atop a solid, non-movable foundation. That way, you have the privilege of accelerating the construction timelines and removing uncertainty.
