You could quite easily add both equations together giving 3x = 12 so x = 4. Then check this by calculating 2x + 3y = 2 = 2(4) + 3y = 2 = 8 + 3y = 2 so 3y = -6 therefore y = -2. Then check this by calculating x - 3y = 10 = 4 - (-6) = 10 or 4 + 6 = 10.

Solution for the first pair of eq. [video miniature]. Just do summation of these 2 equations and then 3x=12, x=4, 4-3y=10, -6=3y, y=-2.

You can also solve this by using elimination method it’s way faster Than the substitution first eliminate the positive 3 and negative than you can solve for y.
