Rest is a gift from Jesus that meets our internal needs
It's a result of being changed internally

However we can't change ourselves

Oftentimes we try to change ourselves in order to obtain rest and in return we make the gift of Rest,a burden

Rest can actually become a burden if we're trying to "work at" being better at it

Saying.. "I'm going to stop doing these things" or
" I'm gonna change this and that.."

This makes Rest become about what we can do to obtain it rather than about the Jesus who gives it freely

We can't work for a gift. It is a gift
We only submit to receiving the gift and all that comes with it

Jesus gives us His gift of Rest as He changes us internally.

He has always been faithful to me, thru peaks and valleys, he is always there! I now follow his way everyday, all the time and it has made life so much better. Not always perfect, but so good, all the time! Thank you Jesus for giving me rest, I love you forever-G
