ID3 is the car your head chooses, Honda E is the car your heart wants.

If the Honda E comes out with a bit bigger battery, I will take that car over any of the electric cars on the market right now. Love that car, but was to small battery for that price. 😥

I bought a Honda E and I’m loving it. You’re not wrong about the range - it’s terrible. I charge the car every night at home and it hasn’t let me down yet - BUT you just can’t imagine it being any less - it would be totally unusable. Hopefully when the car is 2-3 years old (or older!) the battery holds up 😬

Thomas, you are the only car journalist I would trust with my money. Will be for sure taking your opinion into consideration while buying new car. Thanks for the great job and good luck with the channel!

thank you Thomas for your objective comparison reviews. I hope you can soon compare the EV 6 to one of his competitors.

I really want to like the ID3, but I can't. On the other hand, the interior of the Honda e, is just superb.

I love the Honda e, but the price and low range is not sounding good, hope this changes with future models

I have the Honda e and don't live in a city, slightly taller than yourself and don't knock the seat heater switch, was looking at id3 in UK but options restricted at the time for UK market the e has 28.5 kWh usable battery so almost half the size of the id3 so range will be smaller which I can easily live with, dead handy for squeezing through tight gaps and a breeze to park at work in our tight parking slots. Chose it over the mini, call me nuts I love mine.

4:28 i agree thomas, it would be very easy to move the charging port to behind the honda logo. same setup, remote open, flap gois up, not down, protecting the port from rain etc.

Yes. I also agree with you Thomas regarding the VW’s bland styling.
The Honda e actually resembles my Golf Mk 1, more than the Mk 1 Civic.
All subsequent Golfs lost my purchasing after they decided to style in-house.
Aesthetics are important to car enthusiasts.
A real pity that Honda insisted upon a totally unrealistic battery size.
Even city dwellers wish to escape to the countryside!.

The Honda’s so cool, I wish it had more range but I would live with the inconvenience rather than buy the VW ! The VW just to conventional and stinks of cost cutting with cheap materials, they didn’t even finish painting the underside of the bonnet !, I don’t care if you never lift it I’ll know it’s cheaply finished .

Excellent review as always - insightful & incredibly thorough. Great job. Thank you! 👏🏽👍🏽👊🏽
I also agree with your conclusions, the Honda is a short daily journey car (which is all that many drivers do in practice actually) that you probably charge regularly either at home or at work. The VW is more adapted to wider uses and you could even go on a touring holiday or long road trip without problems (assuming charging network exists of course.)

I was behind a Honda E in my old Jazz the other day. Instant torque saw it disappear into the distance. However, when I do eventually buy an EV, it's more likely to be something like the ID3, range, and other stuff. The E is another of those deliberately quirky, kooky designs that looks cute on first acquaintance, but I suspect would become irritating after a while. Thomas could do a review of the road surface and make it sound interesting, so as usual, fab review.

Great review guys, comparison reviews are always so interesting I think. Honda would be my choice except for the range is a bit disappointing. Twice a week I have a journey of 200Km for work but I guess it would handle 100km and then charge while I'm at work for the return trip. Hmmm maybe, the short range isn't such an issue.
