Ive stripped thousands of lbs by hand as I owned a recycling center in Southern California in the 1990s. The best way I ever found with thin wire was to put the end in a vice then back up as far as you need and keeping the wire taught, and using a tile knife with your right hand to strip. The dull tile blade doesn't dig in to the copper. We had a machine for the big stuff which we rarely used.

Great idea. Another one. I put blade on shelf, grooved out a hole, 2 clamps on each side, used same exacto knife, but just the blade, for wires.

Simply brilliant! It's simple, and it's brilliant! I've struggled with a few other ways that discouraged me from continuing. But I've still got a few boxes to strip because I don't want to sell it to the scrap yard when they're just going to strip it.

I use a fillet knife and nail and I can strip all most any size wire with amazing speed
