We used:
2 cups of heavy whippingcream
1 cup of whole milk
1 cup of pure granulated maple sugar
1 tbs of pure vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt

The pure granulated maple sugar dissolves very quickly and gives the ice cream a nice, subtle maple taste that almost mirrors french vanilla ice cream.
