Why I Own and Rebuild Wrecked Exotic Cars

If I wanted to look flashy and show off, I'd probably save myself the money, time, and labor and just buy one really nice car. While it's cool to get thumbs up from little kids, driving is about....driving. It's about community. It's about the way I feel when I'm sitting behind the wheel or taking a corner faster than your average commuter car.

Cars can be a devastating waste of long term wealth, mostly due to depreciation. There’s no getting around that. But that doesn’t mean only rich people can enjoy the hobby, ESPECIALLY if you can wench. You just have to be thoughtful about your money. The reality is most people have no idea what they can and can’t afford in life, because we don’t educate kids about money, which is INSANE. The world revolves around money and most people have zero understanding of it, including, unfortunately, our political leaders (not a political comment just a statement of fact). For car enthusiasts, I would start with a basic book on personal finance, or link up with a friend who studied finance, and figure out how much you need to live, how much you should be saving/investing, and work your way down to how much you can afford for your hobbies, and how much money you need to earn to get yourself to where you want to be in life. That will tell you everything you need to know to get on the right path.
