Old gaming channel here. It used to be so easy. Even somewhat bad content could get you tons of views if it's on the right topic. Now it's totally changed, people have way different expectations for the content they consume. What I find works the best is "How To" content because that's where most of your search volume will come from. If you have no community then you have to rely on search volume in the early days. Converting those random viewers into your community will be important.

Started in January with a focus on horror gaming, mostly indie; oversaturated I know, but that’s the genre that appeals to me the most. Decided I’m gonna commit to a video a week for a year, and then see where I’m at! Wish everyone else the best in their efforts!

I’ve been doing YouTube gaming for three years. One thing that I will say is that it helps when you’re passionate. As long as you got that fire, your on the right path

I been at this for four years now. My videos are slowly getting into the triple digits faster. I mostly do retro reviews and Sega vs. Nintendo content which is very popular on my channel and get high engagements, but now so does my retro reviews. I started doing shorts this month and they have been doing fairly well.

Using shorts to grow your editing skills for your long form content is a valid strategy. I primarily stream but I’ve been editing shorts which has led to some consistent growth over the last Two years. Now to get my last subs and watch hours for monetization I have been editing a terraria series and it was way easier since I was familiar with editing from making shorts.

Keep growing your skills everyone and we will all get there one day.

If I had to put together a PowerPoint on anything in under ten minutes, it would be "Why Your YouTube Channel will Fail (and why you should do it anyway)" if you're passionate and you're having fun, go for it.

That being said, I've been grinding at this for two years now and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I play indie horror games that are popular but also stardew valley with a ton of mods. And also throwback because I'm a child of the 90s.

I, too, set out on YouTube to earn an income. Although I haven’t hit 1, 000 subscribers yet, I keep working with determination and never give up. I’m still here, and quitting is not an option! You, too, don’t give up—keep spreading your wings. I send my heartfelt best wishes to all the small channels. Let’s get started!

Awesome video. I am small YouTuber, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame-Ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

It works, I started a gaming channel (GTA Online) satured niche almost 2y ago doing this part time, I'm monetised since november, and trust me I'm far from beeing the best in editing, trying to learn as much as I can when I have the time.. So if a guy like me can do it, you can too ! ❤

It's my first year as a soulsborne content creator, there's been ups and downs but I made it to 575 subs and 75, 000+ watch hours! Keep on creating everyone!

Been at it for 7 years. I’m a new kind of niche. I live stream and only remix my streams into shorts. I have no videos tab. It’s changed my life using the remix feature. Now I have more subscribers than I would’ve ever dreamed

As a new gaming channel, hitting 1k is pretty hard. But I'm working very hard on it and I enjoy making videos. Hopefully it'll work someday.

I started mine 6 months ago, and now I'm almost at 30k subs as a gaming channel. It's possible guys! Keep grinding and don't give up. Ironically, I started mine playing 2009 games in 2025 and it tapped into nostalgia. Anything is possible

Veronum's growth trajectory is nothing short of impressive. A Coinbase listing would amplify that.

i've been grinding on and off since 2023 (kinda, its complicated), but this time, i'm tryna stay as consistent as i can and trying to build a community centered around watching me play sum scary horror games. i just started watching a couple of your channel growth videos for advice, and i really think this will help push my channel out of a very sad 67 subscribers. but at least this time i'm not stopping and imma be staying consistent, thanks for the advice!
