When I was 21 I dieted and lost about 60 lbs. At that time- 1960s - the accepted way to diet was to cut down on the “Starch”. I did that by eating meat or fish and vegetables. I ate some fruit but not much. But then things changed in the late 70s and 80s and I lived by low carb. I was never thin again. Of course in those years I was pregnant 2x but I ate those low fat carbs and sugar and fed my kids that way. Now I am suffering for that. But I am improving. I went to the mall for lunch and had chicken breast and spicy green beans- no dessert and I feel great. Thank You

This I am following as a result of your diabetes ministry. I thank God for it. A girlfriend introduced me to your ministry again in early 2023, and I have been able keep my type 2 diabetes under control. My doctor says I inspire him! More and more basic foods are seeking to serve low carb interests. More diabetics are serious about a daily low carb intake. Praise the Lord!

So well done! I believe this 100%. I was so sick. I spent two years bedridden from a viral brain injury. During that time I became prediabetic from a total lack of movement and an inability to prepare food for myself. I did exactly this protocol in an effort to repair my brain. It works! And I lost weight as a side benefit. Pastor Dennis was amongst the teachers who helped me reclaim my life. Forever grateful.

August 2020 i have been diagnosed with hypertension 155/102 and diabetes.my glucose level random check was 15 mmol/L.doctor prescribe me a hypertension medication irbesartan and metformin to be taken once a day.blood sample taken and my HB1AC was 8.7.starting that day i started my strict diet which is no sugar, flour and rice.very low carb, eat only fruits and vege, chicken, fish, meat occasionally and eggs.consume a lot of ACV and extra virgin olive oil.practice intermittent fasting /OMAD..then on dec 2020 do the hba1c test again, it went down to 5.7.last 2 weeks my blood sugar consistenly in normal range 4-5.5 mmol/L.i already off my hypertension medication on september 2020 since lost my weight and it suddenly back to normal ( now bp around 110/70) with no medication taken..i think i manage to reversed my hypertension and i hope to reverse my diabetes as well soon..actually i am skeptical at the first place that i dont believe hypertension and diabetes is reverseable since i never heard or met people that manage to do that around me.whay i saw was the person that having the disease or have been diagnosed with that disease, once they have it, they are on medication for life and it is usually deteriorating advancing to worse condition and more dose on medication..but i refuse to give up and just follow what have been advise by dr jason fung, dr eric berg and you Mr Dennis then here i am now, having a significant improvement on my health condition..i still on metformin 500mg for once a day and my doc told me if my next hba1c is in normal range..i can stop taking the metformin..thanks to all for your advice..i will continue this diet for the rest of my life

I have been diabetic for over 10 years. My dad died from it at 63 years old my brother has the same problems. I had a roommate who lost two toes and my feet started hurting. I knew I had to change something so I started watching some preacher who was not even a doctor. I started checking my blood sugar on everything I eat. My blood sugar is now in normal range I don't take medicine and my feet don't hurt any more. Thanks to this program. I lost 25 pounds and not really by dieting but by changing what I eat.

After a remarkable, positive, health turn-around - a recent A1c was 7.3 - Discouraging, after 24 months of good numbers. - You and I are human. We lose our focus. One "cheat day", becomes everyday. One excuse becomes a lifestyle..

Insulin resistance is real - Following Benjamin Bikman's advice works...
If your wife is supportive - that keeps much temptation off the table, but, at the end of the day, it is not what food is presented at the table. It is the diabetic themself who must make the choices which will benefit them. Your family may love potatoes, bread, and processed foods - bless them, but don't join them.
...
My goal is no spikes over 145; AM measurements of under 90; an A1c of under 5.9; at least 20 minutes of cardio daily' and to do it all - without any medications.

My route is mindful eating; time of day fasting; few carbs; plenty of veggies; whole, unprocessed foods; weekly day of fasting; no snacks.

This channel creates "community", especially as the pastor allows commentary, which is greatly encouraging.

Love you all.

I've watched the video twice, and ordered the book. I can see how important intermittent fasting is now and three or four months ago I stopped snacking. I usually have two meals a day and one or twice a week I have a third. Most of what I do comes from following you. I feel great. Thank you so much Dennis.

I tend to be a higher carb eater. Frequently for supper I will have potatoes (air fried, baked, roasted, boiled, etc.), and then add non starchy vegetables., about 1/2 a plate of each. Next morning, I find my fasting blood glucose at 70. If I eat meat the prior supper, my fbg is 85+. I eat very little sweets, wheat, oils (just olive oil), and dairy. I do try to eat 2+ pounds of veggies (potatoes + non starchy veggies)/ day. It seems to me that if you eat whole foods with little fat, this also controls blood sugar and reduces insulin resistance. I eat as an omnivore, just mostly vegetables and fruit with some animal protein now and then. I am 75+ in good health with BMI at 28. Yeah, I need to lose a few lbs. Finally, thank you Dennis for all you post.

Found a youtuber that took several fruits and vegetables and broke down what he had for sugar spikes, grams of carbs, and then put them in categories for mild, good, not good spikes. Like your Walmart video showing different fruits and veggies. So helpful.

Walking can allow me to eat more carbs. My glucose will be 30-40 points lower with a walk and it seems to help for hours afterwards.
