PCIe scaling between Gen 3 and 4 has a negligible performance impact (roughly 2%). This is a difference most people won't be able to notice without an FPS counter.

zero difference. these 5 or 2 fps "boost" is caused because some games use random models like a forza different cars, spiderman randomized human model etc.

Should test it on ryzen 5 5600G (pcie 3) vs ryzen 5 5600 (pcie 4). Pcie 4 x 8 gpu will perform worst on pcie 3 x16 platform

I have a question, is this test using PCIE 3.0 x16? Or PCIE 3.0 x8? Because atm I have a motherboard with PCIE 3.0 x16 which I know is equal to PCIE 4.0 x8, so if I were to get this card since the price dropped down 50 dollars, would I have the same identical performance of a PCIE 4.0 motherboard?

Need to test this with a generation of CPUs that works with both PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 4.0, like a Ryzen 5600X on B450 vs B550... The reason you saw almost no framerate difference is your testing setup always reverted back to 4.0. Other testers doing it properly found games like SpiderMan saw 40-80% higher framerates with PCIe 4.0
