Data Validation- dropdown lists/ stop wrong inputs in Excel

How to control what users input into Excel cells to avoid finger problems and to make sure that the input entered can work with the rest of the spreadsheet e.g. VLOOKUP's/ XLOOKUP's.

Shows how to create dropdown lists (both entered or on another sheet), control the numbers that can be entered, control date ranges that are allowed, force users to only enter a set number of characters in a cell (unique identifiers, ID's, passport numbers, mobile numbers and the like).
