Should the West Work with China on Climate Change?

Показать описание
Should the West work with China on climate change? China is one of the biggest emitters of carbon in the world, but engaging with China on this front hasn't proven very productive. China is still building coal-fired power plants as it seeks to portray itself as a "developing nation" deserving of unequal treatment in climate accords. "We treat them like a liberal democracy when they're really just North Korea with better PR," says Unscripted's Shelley Zhang. If China is going to ignore the promises it makes anyways, is it worth engaging with? We discuss that and more in this episode of China Unscripted.
