India's New Criminal Laws To Come Into Effect From July 1: Here's All You Need To Know | Amit Shah

India will get new criminal laws starting 1st July. The new codes will replace colonial-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and Indian Evidence Act. The government says the new version will help shed colonial linkages. But several constitutional experts have raised concerns.

If a minor is raped by someone.He will either receive a life sentence or the death penalty, but if someone commits gang rape, they will either receive a 20-year sentence or a life sentence.
No death penalty ?

Unless you train the cops working on grounds w.r.t new laws, it just remains on paper. New laws indeed to push hard the pending decade old cases in court, unless right from filing FIR, submitting chargesheet, arguments and hearing judgement is time bounded, nothing seems effective on ground.
