Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker’s entire redemption arc thrown in the toilet by writers who didn’t even understand the Original Trilogy. Anakin / Vader restored the balance with the destruction of both the Jedi and the Sith. The George Lucas’ sequel trilogy was supposed to be about Luke and Leia on one side and Darth Maul and Darth Talon on the other.

"I want you to kill me so that my spirit will pass on into you" And then she...proceeds to kill him by forcing his lightning back at him. And yeah of course she wants to kill him he's the most powerful being in the galaxy and trying to destroy any planet that wont subjugate themselves to his rule. You cant really take him as a prisoner at that point or try to convince him that what he's doing is wrong. We've seen countless Jedi kill in the past. Hell Obi-Wan killed Maul and Grevious and didnt become a Sith.

...Whole film the audience thinking Palpatine wants Rey dead.
Then.. "I never wanted you dead.. KIll me instead, I want to live in you"
And since Palpatine is Snoke what was the point of that interregation scene in TLJ. Just clueless writing.

The sequels are fan fiction with an extreme budget.
