When I saw this in the theater, I noticed Luke didn't leave footprints. Until the big reveal, I thought it was a tech error.

This scene is badass. Shows just how powerful Luke became and how hateful and raw Kylo was. There's some really great scenes in this movie.

As much crap I give the sequels I admire the atmosphere that Crait provided. Say what you want about it mirroring Hoth the aesthetic with the white snow and the blasts of red when hit with blasters and cannons really does it for me.

Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master, defeated a Sith Lord using nothing more than his brain and the Force. He so completely outplayed, outmanoeuvred and outthought Kylo Ren it is actually funny. In the process, he single-handedly defeated the entire First Order army and saved the Resistance. On top of which, he slapped down his former Padawan so hard the screams could likely be heard on the next planet over.

He managed to do all of that from a different planet light years away through Force Projection, even though it killed him in the end...

Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master. He wrote the literal book on what being a Jedi really means, even an old man beaten down and broken by life and bad decisions.

Lightsaber fight would have made no sense at all. Luke has risen above using sabers to strike down evil. Kylo can't have killed Luke he hasn't had the training. Luke can't have killed Kylo or would have made the JEDI the same as in the Republic. Having something separate them mid fight would have been cliché and a total cop out. What happened in the movie was so so so perfect and has spiritual meaning. Beautiful score on Crait. Actually connected to me on a spiritual level. People who watch star wars in future will see this movie as the best one no question.

This movie was whatever but Mark killed it. His raw emotion here when his eyes fill with tears at what Ben has become while still firmly confronting him is so palpable.

Showing how powerful Luke had become would have been having him crunch one of those walkers into a neat little cube with the Force. There were better, more interesting ways they could have had him stall for time while still showing his power.
