I use it with a metronome and building up gradually the snapping motion. Great exercise

Man Rob, you’re great. My drum teacher I had 40 years ago should have had you for an instructor. I’ve watched about 10 of your videos and I’m really impressed. I’m not happy with some of YouTube’s policies but man how guys like Rob are brought to the masses is fantastic. Intelligence, communication skill, musicianship, and a sense of humor (just watched a video where Rob had his timer for some ribs he was smoking ... awesome). Quite a unique, very likable talent. Thanks for doing what you are doing. My kit was collecting dust for 5 years... it’s not now.

dude, WTF! i'm 64, been playing drums on and off for 30 years and i've never really nailed doubles until now. that simple trick of putting the accent on the second hit changed everything, now i'm getting much smoother consistent rolls. i'm not perfect yet but i definitely feel i've broke through the wall. thank you so much.

I am a self taught drummer...I cant believe how much progress I made over the years without having the fundamentals. I am reinventing myself from the basics up. I started practicing fundamentals everyday as if I am a baby drummer and I am having so much fun. Thanks for the video man. I appreciate it. I also just discovered heal/toe...so fun man.
