Thanks for posting this, I remember being so hyped for the release of the N64. I also had a subscription to GamePro back then and I remember reading this great issue!

Oh my god,
Nostalgia tidal wave. Do y’all remember GAMEPLAYERS magazine? I still have the one about the “upcoming Resident Evil 2, sneak peak!” Lol

Great coverage! Let me help you with a few things here. No worries, I was mostly a console gamer at this time. I'm also a huge 5th generation collector. Go to number 9 *edit for something I think you just might be interested in.

1. Illusion of Gaia is a JRPG that was made by Squaresoft. It was absolutely fantastic and you should try it if you ever get a chance.
2. The Exeeye was a high-end Sega Genesis/Sega CD in one package sold usually in stereo stores ar that time.
3. There were two different Die Hard games out at that time. The first was Die Hard Arcade (not an open world) that was exclusive to the Saturn and was amazing. It was a beat em' up with guns, robots, and crazy Sega nonsense everywhere. Die Hard Trilogy was the second game and was released on both the PlayStation and Saturn (3 games in one). It wasn't bad...
4. The CPU speeds for all three was only one small part of the story. The Sega Saturn featured two 32-bit processors running at 28.6 MHz (it had a total of 8 processors). It was definitely stronger than the PlayStation and on paper should give the N64 a run for its money with a proper development team.
5. Goldeneye came out in 1997.
6. The N64 was the very first console that was in such high demand that staplers jumped into the fray. How I really hate them...
7. I hate to say this but the N64 was not one of Nintendo's more popular consoles. Sony absolutely creamed them in sales by such a ridiculous amount saying it was a blowout is an understatement. The N64 sold 32.93 million units. The original PlayStation moved 102.49 million units. We won't talk about the poor Saturn. :(
8. Final Doom on the PlayStation had so much more going for it than the vanilla PC version. It had an amazing soundtrack and an all new lighting system that set it apart from all other versions. Even though I love Doom 64 it even beat it.
9. Powerslave believe it or not was best played on the Sega Saturn. It featured lighting and particle effects not seen on any other version. You can now get it on Steam. ;)
10. You my good sir, got the ratings correct. GamePro's rating system goes all the way up to 5.0. They gave Ridge Racer Revolution a 4.5 because it was one of the very best racing games of that time period. This was of course before we got games like Gran Turismo and Sega GT. Remember that one?

Yes, "the video is gonna take a long time." Haha. Just skim through the pages and briefly cover em. Its easier to watch it.
