I'm on a pursuit to test 9 different pouring mediums, and today we're experimenting by combining Liquitex Pouring Medium with the Atelier brand to see if they’ll play nicely together or not! In this video, I dive into the world of fluid art to create a stunning abstract landscape. Watch as I mix rich, opulent colours to craft a palette that resembles a glowing sunset, full of warmth and depth. From smooth, glossy finishes to unexpected textures, discover which pouring medium brings out the best in these mesmerising hues. Once the painting is dry, I add another layer using a glaze technique to infuse a shimmering gold effect across the canvas. Join me on this creative journey and see how these different painting mediums can elevate your fluid art techniques!

Hi Froyle, when I was doing fluid art like that, I bought one of those little torches from the $2 shop - the ones that are not much bigger than a lighter. I am terrified of the bigger torches I see other painters used. But those little ones, I found they worked really well for getting rid of bubbles in the paint. They are usually found on the counter where you check out :) Have a great week :)

Cool!
I had made one that, to me, looked like an underwater area. Soooo, after it dried for a week (I was contemplating what I was going to do) & then painted fish on it. Made for a very cool piece

Really liked this. Not of a fan of the Oriental Art influence in your other works. But I find the methods you employ are interesting.

Hi Froyle! I love these new experiments with pouring paint. The outcomes are stunning. I keep wondering about all the paint that gets left on the drop cloth beneath.. Do you think there's a way to use gelli plates to capture some of that paint and make gelli prints with it? I'm so out of my depth here. Just a thought.

What a beautiful piece of artwork. The colours were stunning. What did you mix your TLP piggies with before you added it to your artwork? 😊

We have a no torch rule in out house. An ash flew off my son’s torch and attached to the back of his Temu sweatshirt and he didn’t realize it until his entire shirt went up in flames. I found him fairly quickly but it wasn’t fast enough, his hair was still on fire as well as his work room. We got things out and got him to the hospital but 25% of his body was covered in 3rd degree burns. Myself, my husband and my son have been working with torches for years, so we’re not idiot newbies. I don’t think I can ever pick one up again. Of course half the problem was the sweatshirt from China with no flame retardant. I’m going to stick with my heat gun from now on too.
