VW Golf MK7 (5G) disable Auto Start-Stop system

Auto Start-Stop feature will shut down your engine to preserve fuel but it can have negative impact on components like battery, alternator, starter. Also when the engine is off, the catalytic converter cools down which can make it less effective.
In Volkswagen #GolfMK7 you can disable the auto #startStop system with simple coding procedure by changing one of the parameters that need to be met in order for the system to work correctly. This will cause the system to see that all the required conditions are not met and Auto Start-Stop system will not be available. No fault code will be stored but there will be notice on the infotainment screen.

ℹ️ Sadly there's currently no known option to invert the button functionality so the system is off by default and can be turned on when needed.

I have an audi and I can confirm this works for them too. I changed mine a few years ago and I don’t miss it at all.

Do you happen to know if this is available for a Golf GTE Hybrid?
When i'm in GTE (Sport mode) when letting of the throttle the engine turns off and when applying throttle again it turns on again with high revs.
It very anoyying and possibly bad for the turbo.

Do you perhaps know how to permanently disable the ESC or TC system? The hazard lights trick works but as soon as i drive, it switches back on immediately.

Hi @mr-fix - I use OBD11 as well with iOS. I have a VW Tiguan 2.0TDI from 2013, I tried long coding in module 19. but I only have 3 bytes (with index 0, 1, 2) and only got long adaptation, not adaptation, where I have to enter the channel 0-255. Do you have any idea how I can turn start-stop off please?

Ustawiłem w golfi VII tdi na 12V a nawet na 12.1V i start stop nadal działa. Dlaczego? Temperatury nie mogę zmienić.

Tried on my MY2019 Golf 7, 5 and unfortunately it did not work. With voltage set to 12.1 start/stop still works as usual. Is there any other way to code it out on 2019 golfs?

it's permanently disable. But is it possible to do that - after starting the engine the value would be "off", and I could turn it on manually with button if needed

Could you just disable the function with the (disable start/stop system) cuz I saw it in your OBD 11 menu??
Why did you do it through voltage?

Hi mr-fix, you can change also by temperature, but first you have to go to developer mode, than it works!

In the Mk7.5 the voltage method no longer works. Tried setting to 12, 12.1 but stop start still kicked in. Must try the temperature method. Voltage worked on RS3, TTRS and Tiguan but has stopped working on the Mk7.5 Golf R. The voltage method is accepted and stored but does not disable the stop start. Going to have to find another way
