Rollerblades vs Freeskates!

Inline are better with really no contest in most urban environments, longer runs, and for learning. I see the appeal of free skates, but would personally only use them for messing around in some mostly flat controlled surfaces.

You just can’t go as fast as inline. Comparing experienced freeskater to an un experienced rollerblader doesn’t prove your point…

Free skates seem very convenient, but they are harder to learn in my opinion. But then again, I've been roller skating/blading since the early 90's, but picked up free skates literally a week ago lol.

You can use the straps of your inline skates to attach them to the straps of your backpack. That way they'll just hang besides you and they can also act as cupholders.

The fact that freeskate can't go throught obstacles is a deal breaker

That's why inlines should go on a carabiner hooked to the backpack.

I grew up on inlines. Although I’m learning to free skate and I think they’re cool, my favorite will always be inlines

Never tried either, both look cool but for me rollerblades just look more appealing for the simplicity of tricks and also the fact you xan do grinds

Have you tried skating facing forward with the free skates turned wheels up and down?

both are fun in its own way. it's up to personal preference. inline was my childhood, now I doin freeskates, freebord and snakeboard.

Rollerblades will always win it for me. I prefer the steadiness they offer my ankles and feet. Which is a big advantage you did not mention! ^~^

They also make inline skates that strap on to your shoes. May take you a few more seconds to put them on, but you'll move a lot faster. And it will fit into an empty backpack just like the freeskates.
