If you'd like to start using these for campus commute, check out the store link in our channel bio 😎

Actually freeskates are very difficult to ride on rough terrain or on routes with many ups and downs. You have to constantly pump and this is tiresome after some minutes.
The heels get burned after a while. Moreover they are very dangerous in big downslopes unless you have big experience, these little skates can pickup speed in no time. After 10 seconds going downhill, you cannot just jump without getting hurt... You can only drift or reverse pump and both of these are difficult to master.

At our college, the professor who uses these to get around campus broke his wrist… twice

As nifty as these guys are, I’m still not sold in the practicality. They honestly look like the worst of rollerblades and skateboards, but with lower margin of error, and slower. They don’t look like they’re great in a park environment either. I don’t see these jumping up rails and ledges. Flatland freestyle and wizard skating is getting popular among BMX and in-liners respectively. You could try tapping into that market?

My uni had a guy who rode a unicycle everywhere. Our schedules didn’t line up so we rarely crossed paths but seeing him riding that thing to class always made my day.

I'll stick with my longboard, the college campus I go to has some big hills that would be terrifying in freeskates.

So roller blades without the shoe, with 2-4 fewer wheels, no good breaking mechanic, and pricetag on the level of some of the much nicer roller blades that you have to buy in specialty or sports shops? Yeah, seems logical to pay more for less. Definitely. Couldn't just get something like a skateboard instead, which is much cheaper if you're not customizing them and are just as easy to store and carry. The skates make it easier to store in your bag instead of carrying, but I'm not sure if anyone here (most likely you have) has ever tried storing anything that large and awkwardly shaped in your backpack, but it's always a bit awkward and can get in the way with how much space they really take up in the bag. Board has it's own awkwardness, but at least it's cheaper, more common, have common breaking methods, can be customized to show personality, can just be stored under your desk, under the seat, or at your class door if your teacher is cool with it, and more repairable.

“People assume our product is impractical because we only ever demonstrate it in ideal circumstances” no Mr. Scammaster, people don’t assume, they know. And we have quite a bit more context clues than just that.

Good thing you showed footage of them being used on a surface that isn’t perfectly flat…Oh wait

Only an American college student could try to convince people free skates are a convenient method of transport

Can you imagine riding those barefoot and scraping your toes? 😅

East Coast schools, almost without exception, have horrible sidewalks and roads whether it's a separated campus or one built into the city.

Don't get me wrong, I love these! I just feel like they are more appropriate for either tricks, or easy commutes like shown in the video, for example through a campus.

I'm sure you could use these on the street for example, but they would be a lot less practical than a skate or a bike, particularly if you live in Europe where some streets are really rough even for bicycles lol

Shockingly, having the skates unattached does not make them better. I would love to lose one of my skates in traffic lol

On what planet are these considered practical transportation

the mechanics of this thing are much less efficient than a longboard. looks about as chill to ride as a unicycle
