Whether true or not this kind of thing totally happened in the past. Romans used to do something quite similar to the concept of red rooms while executing prisoners in the forums and colosseums, it was sort of a side event to the regular sporting events and gladiator fights. People would shout out super loud what they’d want done to the prisoner and the executioner would just do it.
