The majority of the time, caring for orchids involves mundane tasks like ... WEEDING!! 🤣 sometimes weeds are GREAT for maintaining humidity around the orchids, especially beneficial for anyone growing orchids in a dry climate, but, there comes a time that the companion plants that have propagated themselves into orchid pots, can be more vigorous thank our orchids. This can pose all sorts of issues, including reducing airflow around the structures of the orchids, possibly limiting the amount of light that new growths are exposed to, as well as ... pests! Pests can establish themselves in the dense foliage of unwanted plants and create a colony, possible worse, a complete outbreak, which is easily avoided simply by controlling anything that enjoys growing along side our orchids. #orchideen #orquideas #orchideenpflege #tips #tipsandtricks #tricks #livestream #beginners

I wish I could join these live, it is just a bad time for me. Not saying you should change the day or time, it just happens to be a time I cannot make. Unless COSTCO decides to change their hours, anyway.🤣
Do you know today is the first time since October I gave the outdoor orchids any feed? I bought this liquid feed that I had intended to try indoors but it is thick (thicker than molasses) I cannot draw it up a pipette, it has to be measured using spoons. While that is fine for the sprayer outside, the amount I need for the watering can for the indoor plants is so small it isn't worth the hassle. So, the outdoor orchids are getting the deluxe feed this year.
