Humidity Hack for vanda roots gets put to the test! I had to move the rupiculous laelias out of the harsh conditions. Consistent strong dry wind is making life on the patio a little taxing for my orchids. BBQNBLUES gave me an inspired idea to increase humidity around the roots of my vandas that are struggling to stay hydrated! With garbage bags, of all things, so we are putting that to the test as from today! 🤞🏼 #ninjaorchids #orchidflower #orchidcare

🦒🐾🙌🙋‍♀️ Hello vecinos favoritos !!! Happy SUNday, hopefully a windless day !!! Bagging them up is a great idea and it may give them the humidity they are lacking. Although the wind is still getting inside the bags, the pool of water at the bottom may really help. King is looking for the freshness provided by the plants. And those sweet honey looking eyes!!!! Love you all 💖😍🤗😘

Nina, the Bag Lady! I think the bags will make a big difference. I’m surprised you didn’t get all white bags 😜. I’m so envious of your energy. Everything looks real neat and organized. YOU stay safe and take care 😃

Nice to see you and your pets are doing well! I think those bags will help a lot!! All of my vandas are in root mode right now, so I am grateful for the rain I’m getting. I’m very excited to have ordered a variegated vanilla planifolia, I hope it does well here. Nice to see ya! 🌸💖

Once bitten twice shy, goodbye bleaching powder.. I'm trying to find one Berry Oda and have send Ninja Orchid's Berry Oda video to a rare orchid collector and distributor in our State for clarification. I think putting some holes above a particular level in the garbage bag to hold droplets of water from misting can ensure ample airflow to the roots. I wish you a sunny, joyous Sunday Nina.

OK, that moment when the stocking stuffers almost fell off the back of the shelf, that's me ALL THE TIME. Front of the shelf, back of the shelf, side of the shelf. If I didn't need the space for the leaves to stretch out, I'd put some kind of mesh around the shelves to prevent that kind of disaster.
I am glad to see that the insiders are getting some time on the outsider. I think it will do them some good, they'll get a little more light. I think you need to get some bricks or cement blocks instead of the plastic crates to set that rack on. Even plastic milk crates might be better because the plastic is a little more rigid. Lord knows back in the poor college days, I had plastic milk crates and scavenged pieces of wood as shelving in an apartment. It was strong enough to hold books and a stereo.

Hi Nina...I like the bag idea and perhaps the blue color will slow the growth of any algae that might form. Good luck.
