If I had to pick the most helpful video on YouTube for houseplant care, it's this one. Thank you!!

450? Wow! I remember when you had 100 on your balcony! I thought 100! Now I have 200 and that is my limit. I admire you that you can take care of 450. No way too many! You are amazing. Thank you.

I've been using your recipe for non toxic diy oily solution for year and a half in my battle against mealy bugs and spider mites and it works absolutely great for me. Thank you very very much, Danny! 💖

Hi miss Dani, pests are inevitable for me, so outbreaks of meally bugs, spidermites, scales are a super headache, I try your oil solution on scales, it worked especially on spidermites. Here in Philippines harmful insecticides are a must and I do too unfortunately and it takes time and effort for us. Thanks for the vid😄, It helped me, it's just that for us, it still depends on environment and seasonal insects and pests😂

I found mealybugs on my Paphiopedilum. I sprayed it with ethanol-based hand sanitizer. Plant didn't seem to mind, but the mealybugs didn't like it at all.

Hi Danny. My problem was mealy bugs. Constantly q-tipping the leaves was an impossible and unsuccessful task . Finally decided to use your soap, paraffin oil formula and worked great. But did take a month and half and couple of repeat applications and... this year didn’t have one outbreak at all. Where I used to rid the oil with simple soap solution, this time I didn’t and seems the oil didn’t affect my collection. Also am a slow learn but getting there and finding that watering with RO water is best when in doubt. Spring is just around the corner. Thanks for your many videos and always looking forward for your postings.
You should patient your soap paraffin oil formulation. Is the best 😬

The sun started to come out in the last few weeks for spring, as did thrips on my new phals- am trying the leaf shine trick to see if it will hold them at bay until it's warm enough to properly treat my whole collection (hopefully!) Thanks!

Dani, what is the name of the spray product you used for the thrips?

Leaf shine spray is brilliant! So much easier then paint brush application technique I’ve been using around the mealy bugs. Always worried about the temp change of alcohol when I use it for them. Awesome option to try...especially with the time I will save with a collection around 200 🤣

Great video. I would love to see one about what you talked about with growing Orchids outside. I have killed every Orchid I have purchased. I didn't even know they were ok for me to grow outside.

I have thrips in my collection, and I've been controlling them with a combination of parafin oil and mechanical removal, but I'm worried that they'll just hide and reproduce in the media. Dani, do you manage to get rid of thrips just by spraying superficially (but thoroughly)? I imagine with a collection of 400+ orchids it's not feasible to repot all of them to get rid of thrips in the media...

Thank you sooo much for this video. You’re the best! I always wondered how you did it. I am so scared for my orchids to touch each other. I have over 100 myself. Once you find pests, can I ask you how long before treating them another time?

Hi Danny! Thank you for the detailed explanation ! What do you use for the velvet leaf plants like jewel orchids and African violets? Also, have you tried leaf shine based on silicone and not paraffin ? Thank you!

Thank you soo much for your tips!! I am so desperate my orchid leaves have yellow rings/spots. With this video I found out it might be because of the spider mites. Ive had it for about 4 years it wasn’t even my plant they were going to throw it away… every year it give me flowers. I am soo in love with this plant like you can’t imagine ❤️. But this year is my first time that it has this yellow spots I am soo sad a tiny leaf is growing like every year but unfortunately it has yellow spots on it too grrr. Wish me luck!! I am going to use all your tips.

I used the baby oil solution last year while my orchid was growing a flowet spike. After using that solution sll the baby buds dried off and the spike didnt produce anything. Now it has a new spike with gorgeous flowers though

Can oil treatments be wiped onto the leaves instead of spraying ?
