First of all, I'm a teacher and I'll never belittle my students who are doing bad in my class in front of their classmates. I'll have a talk with the student and their parents privately if they're doing bad in my class. Second, what that teacher did was a crime, she's no teacher, she's a thief! If the kid had a reputation of not lying to his parents then his parents should have believed him at first. I'm glad his friend helped him out in exposing that teacher and got her fired. She should have been arrested for theft.

A real teacher should never abuse his/her position and blackmailing students for their selfish greed like Joe's teacher did and she paid the price as she's fired from her job after everyone now knows the truth about her scheme. In my opinion the school should have her arrested and sent to prison because she deserved to be punished for what she did to poor Joe.

Something maybe EVEN WORSE than this is when a child is SEXUALLY ABUSED and the parent assumes the child is lying about it either to get attention or because the parents think the child is mad at the priest or teacher or counselor for some reason and is lying about the sex abuse to get the person in trouble. Or the parents DO know about the abuse but blame the child saying that the child "seduced" the adult or something.

Imagine running to your parents for help because you have just been sexually assaulted by a trusted authority figure and then instead of PROTECTING you from further molestation and notifying the POLICE (and whoever runs the institution like school or church that the abuser works at) the parent angrily punishes the child.

That was just really good LUCK that his friend found that proof. It was not like she was actively LOOKING for it, she found it BY ACCIDENT (the teacher should have been more clever and taken it home and hit it better) and EVEN THEN the boy was lucky that she was strong willed enough to NOT give in to the teachers threats. Children are often intimidated by adult authority figures and fail to realize that its ok to report them for abuse or corruption.

Imagine if that had NOT happened and then the teacher was to keep making the boy steal for her and the boy gets caught AGAIN by his parents and gets sent to a strict boarding school then later on the parents finally get the proof that the teacher was blackmailing him. How would they make that up to him?
