Russell Brand coverts to Christianity

Comedian Russell Brand has converted to Christianity in search of something better than Hollywood's “shallow, empty” lifestyle, Sky News contributor Kinsey Schofield has revealed.

Brand told social media followers he was baptized during an “incredible” ceremony in the River Thames in London, supported by Bear Grylls.

“I’ve seen criticism in the last few weeks over this baptism, over the transformation,” Ms Schofield told Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi.

“I do know members of his family, and it is very much authentic.

“I think he was seeking something more.

“You even kind of see this in the Katy Perry documentary.

“He wants something more; he felt like the Hollywood lifestyle was shallow; he didn’t want to continue to pursue the vanity and the emptiness.”
