In this video Jay and Job Spetter tune a 450 cubic inch LS based engine going into a 1969 Camaro. We run the engine on the EIC Motorsports Engine Dyno making over 900 HP from the Naturally aspirated V8. The engine uses CID Cylinder Heads, has a 15:1 Compression Ratio. It has a 4.1" Stroke and 4.185" Bore. It has Kinsler Stacks with eight 70mm Throttle Bodies. During the dyno test the engine was running One R Ethanol fuel.

Thank you for watching.

This is LITERALLY my dream configuration...but I'd want a little more displacement and an LT billet block instead of an LS. I'd go with both direct AND port injection - you get incredible part-throttle, low-speed drivability with really good top-end power and flow. And it sounds fucking NASTY! But 670 lb-ft out of 450ci is incredible. That's 91 lb-ft/liter! For reference: the classic 458 F136 V8 engine made 88.5 lb-ft/liter and the LT6 in the C8 Z06 makes 83.5 lb-ft/liter.

Nice! 122hp\LITER\BAR.. impressive 👌
Most ls based stuff is lucky to break into the 100's.

Keep your turbos or blowers, nothing beats throttle body noise.

I recognize a Yates head when I see it.

For comparison sake. All of the top sprint car engines are 410" and make 960hp with icky pinch port sbc pattern heads and turn 9300rpm

List some part numbers for all of this so we can check them out. And check prices.

That's based on a Cleveland head, not a Windsor, correct? How do the flowbench numbers compare against an appropriately sized LS rectangle port head?

7:05 I went from ls1 to ls3 heads and a short runner intake on my 408 ls and chop at idle got a lot more aggressive . Am I safe to assume this is why?

Is that 15:1 static or dynamic? Caught that it’s on ethanol, not pump gas. What application really calls for something like this? I love it but I don’t get the why.

I'm a bit confused, why use the Ford head, there are so many LS heads to make 900-1000 hp with the same or less effort...The cost of going this way with the custom heads must of been a lot more expensive... Can you tell us the reason ???

Its awesome but its still a chevy abomination 🤣

Whats the reason behind adopting a ford head for an LS?
