Michael, you of all people should know that flowerhorns require an olympic sized swimming pool complete with 18 ft diving well. 45 gallons would be appropriate for a single betta, but only if heavily planted. (/sarcasm)

But seriously, what I want you to do is go look at your fish. See how happy and healthy they are. See how they breed, eat, and interact with each other. All their needs are met, they have no fear of predators or harm. I'm sure after about 2 minutes, you'll reach the same conclusion I did - these people are clowns, they have no idea what they are talking about.

And to be honest, I think the best thing you can do is keep making content. There are a lot of mistreated fish out there, but it isn't because the owners are cruel - its because they don't know any better. More content = more awareness = more happy fish
