I feel like Relogic should just stop listing updates as the final ones. Even if they start developing a new game, I don’t see a problem with occasionally coming back to Terraria and adding a few things if they feel like it

At this point i feel like Terraria`s updates are named like those clickbaity titles, like " Terraria is DONE", "It`s OVER for Terraria!" or "The Terraria situation is CRAZY".

I remember, a million years ago, facing off against such beasts as Lepus during Easter, Turkor the Ungrateful during Thanksgiving, and the dreaded Ocram at the end of my world - all for Souls of Blight. With more successes, I made Dragon armor and used Tizona to strike down Ocram ever more. And, eventually, I found myself with a pair of Sparkly Wings! I was quite proud of making them, then realized I could buy them from the Dryad during a blood moon...

I would like to make mention that the guy who released the original Skyblock mod for Minecraft was actually trying to trademark or copyright the term-- not out of malicious intent, but because a lot of people were (and are) claiming his mod as the 'original' (and have been fighting mojang's own minecraft store over this too), in an attempt to have some recognition. Every time I hear 'skyblock' I remember this.

4:37 it is Steam only, but it is *not* Windows only. It should work fine on Linux and macOS.

EDIT: it won't work on macOS since I don't think there was ever an official build of 1.2.4 for macOS, but Linux should work if you enable Proton.

EDIT 2: it works on Linux with Proton.

For me, skyblock is about mastery of mechanics, game knowledge, and the freedom and requirement to build grand machinations. Because you have to grind any material you want to use, you have to carefully plan how you want to use them. The more efficient you are in design and construction, the less grinding you have to do. The better your designs, the more efficient your farms. I'd love a good skyblock scenario for terraria (I'd done one like CrabBar already but didn't get to hardmode) because i'm not super familiar with all of terrarias mechanics. Skyblock is a forge that refines you as a player.

Tbh, I stopped playing regular teraria since dirt bomb became a thing. I only play sky block now (It's been years since I've played regular teraria).
The shimmer mechanics has trivialized some sky block tasks, but it did open more possibilities (I loved the change).
Here's what I believe sky block should contain:
1. a pool of shimmer, walls should be 1 block thick, made out of marble
2. On top of it there should be some temporary ice blocks (like the ones created by the ice rod) and chest on top of them (in such a way they don't disappear till the chest is removed
3. The chest should just contain the moss types that can't be obtained in skyblock, plus some special "treacherous living tree walls" for gnomes, I think 25 or 30 is a fair number
3. Lava fished crates should give Hell stone
4. Frost legion should become a pre-hardmode event (shimmering a battle standard for a summoning item so that one is not confined to Christmas time)
5. The brain/eater of world, should drop an item let's call it "Hell key" that when shimmered turns into a hell-forge
6. Imo, the dungeon shouldn't be built, but rather at surface level on either side of the world, the old man would ne standing on a 3 block wide platform with a chest in the background that contains the exact number of blocks to create a dungeon biom (with 10 extra for the sake of being merciful) note: this should exist despite anything mentioned about making dungeon bricks crafted from hardmode ore
7. Jungle mimics should exist on this seed, as well as the pre-hardmode mimics similar to special seeds (Jungle mimics should allow for farming silt and ash and stuff)
8. Plantera's temple key should be shimmerable into a "Temple Crate" which contains the golem altar plus a few lizhard bricks furniture that can be shimmered into bricks (oh and a single power cell)
9. MAKE MORE STUFF RENEWABLE (I always play sky block with the purpose of collecting everything not just beating the game)
10. Put a deamon (or crimson) altar in the world (please)
Optional; crimson mimics (and corrupt mimics too if you think it's unfair) have a 1% (or lower) chance of dropping a life crystal after 1 mech is defeated

Either way, can't wait for the new skyblock challenge
