How to EASILY fix a drifting Gamecube controller

It's kinda weird that Gamecube had got this easy way to fix a so tedious problem while we are in a generation full of drifting. Is true saying "the good old days".

Fun fact for those who don't know, this doesn't really fix "drift" as most people know it, that command he is pressing basically re-calibrates the controller as sometimes when you plug it or just turned on the console and there was a little bit of input on the controller (either on purpose or by accident) this drift would occur. Pretty useful stuff ☺️

I went 15 years without knowing this. I always just unplugged then plugged the controller back in when this happens.

I used to have perpetual drift when playing games that required continuous single-direction moving for hours at a time, like Sonic Heroes. 50 hours of pushing up on the joystick.

I think this just worked for my gamecube controller now! I did it at the Switch menu, and there's no upwards drift on my controller anymore. Even my C Stick works! Thank you so much for the calibration trick! I haven't played Smash in months because of that 19.0 bug!

I didn't even know this this is really cool. Usually when this happens I just unplug the controller and plug it back it and that works too

Man old controllers were built so much better and even if they did drift, you could fix it with a button combination.

This never works for me. I think there's something wrong with my stick because the only way it works is if I hold left while it's turning on/while holding x+y+start. Edit: I opened it today and cleaned out a ton of dirt and now it works perfectly.
