You don’t need to wake up at 5am, you don’t even need to check a million things off your to-do list… because waking up mentally ready for the day is good enough for today.

Morning routines were always so hard for me, especially when I was struggling with depression and anxiety. I didn't have any energy to get out of bed, let alone get up at ridiculous hours and start my day with a grueling workout.

In this video, I share some things I've learned over the years that helped me START to build up a REALISTIC* morning routine for myself. It's more simple and chill than you'd think. Rooting for you always, my loves. 💞

I know I need to change, but I live in a toxic household (borderline, narcissistic, controlling grandmother) where it is impossible to cook, do most cleaning, and laundry. I don't have the financial means to get out. The last time I was happy was the last year of my childhood I spent in rural Kansas. I have always been lazy, but when living there, I actually woke up of my own volition every day at 6 am to take care of the chickens. I sort of blame my personality type which apparently absorbs negative energy like a sponge. Today I woke up with a positive mindset until that toxic person barged into room and did not respect my boundaries. The only thing I can do is stay in bed on my phone and I'm so sick of it.

I love that you've addressed this have had some similar struggles am struggling with burnout right now and no motivation but watching videos like this gives me hope before getting into the shower this morning I watched an episode of Gilmore Girls and it really helped boosting my self-care however that might look different for someone else thank you for helping me come up with more ideas it's difficult to do that when you have Down Syndrome

Loved this!! I’ve been thinking about my morning routine more recently- of course it’ll change in a couple of months with baby girl. I used to make my bed all of the time and then with pregnancy I have a bunch of random pillows so it’s more effort to do than not lol. But I’ve always thought it made me feel like I was off to a good start. For me right now walking my dog, grooming her, feeding her is my routine but my favorite is when I have time to open my computer and go through my emails from the day before or go through the “easy” things on my to do list. Definitely will need to think about other ways! Thank again for sharing your ideas! Ps that avocado toast looked amazing!

I want to know how am I going to get into a routine at night and morning if I have ADHD autism depression anxiety borderline personality disorder bipolar and schizophrenia... Cause I find it really hard to get into a routine and etc .. and i have a hard time doing things I love when I can't do those things because I feel unmotivated to do them

I was feeling "healed "for the first 4 months of 2023 and so happy for my recovery. Now Im in deep depresion have anhedonia and feel exahusted, I miss enjoying my hobbies:( I also wake up so tired I cant leave my bed always gets worse in summer

I have been in depression for almost 3 years then after medication and therapy it got less but recently i can fell it it back, I'm loosing hope, 😭😭
