In the mid-1950s, there began a new era in which African Americans began to migrate to Ghana as a result of its independence. African Americans, especially civil rights activists such as W. E. B. Du Bois and Julian Bond, went to Ghana to aid the country's development and escape the racism of the United States.

In this video I share Dale and Deisa’s story of moving from the United States to Ghana. Deisa was a pharmacist in the US and Dale was an investment banker over in New York. Now they have relocated to Ghana and are establishing their lives here.

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana, from the Ghanaian food, to the Ghanaian culture, to the Ghanaian lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and help inspire to explore Ghana.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.

Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

African content creators we are doing great, even though slowly, but hopefully, we will change that narrative.

Zero expectation is an excellent approach.

A country will not meet the expectations of anyone. A person has to create their own expectations depending on the environment. A person has to know where they are moving to.

I've been thinking about relocating to Ghana myself from America. America is my born home, but Ghana is now calling for me. It's an exciting and frightening ambition of mine. Thank you for interviewing this couple, our Lady Jasmine. 😎🖤🙏😎

She is right about the similarity between Guyana 🇬🇾 and Ghana 🇬🇭. In 2019 when I flew to Guyana for the first time after 15 minutes driving from the Airport to my hotel. I said the same thing, that it feels like Ghana and I can move and live in Guyana without any problems

finally diasporans are catching on to the fact that you dont have to build your own place to move to ghana....buying is a better option than wanting to build your own house in ghana....and there are sooo many beautiful gated and residential properties to choose you Ama for this enlightening interview.

Lovely couple in a lovely home. I wish them the best and fulfillment in Ghana. America is too depressing for me. I feel increasingly lost daily.

Their story resonates with me deeply. The George Floyd incident happened in my neck of the woods and I do remember the subway shooting that happened in NY vividly. Some mentally deficient lunatic decided to shoot up in one of the subway carts. Incidents like that can scar you for life leaving irreparable damages. Can't wait to move down permanently.
