Win10 HDR Fix (Sort of)

I tested this on an Acer 1080p 144hz HDR400 display and it also appears washed out in Windows games.. However I wasn't able to find any settings in the OSD that improved it for the Acer. IDK what the deal is with Windows-based HDR. I am going to try installing some HDR games on my capture PC (which has a 9th Gen i5 and a 1660 Ti), and see if HDR looks any different. At least that'd eliminate my main desktop PC as the culprit.

I switched from RGB to ycbcr444 and it completely fixed my problem. Just had to tweak the contrast and lighting settings after I switched it.

turn on hdr, go to gpu control panel, contrast all the way to the right 100%
clears away the extra lighting in the picture on the desktop, games not affected

their is actually a fix you can play in a SDR evelope with HDR10 color its called BT-1886 color space it was made for high end flat panels for creative types when crossover from tube to LCD came about looks amazing never seen more accute reds

I bought a Odyssey G9, It arrived in my home today, after I turned HDR On, I saw this wash out colors, so so ugly, I was so much worried got desperated thinking I had a fault monitor... Happy to know that this is a problem with HDR itself and Windows and Mac OS

I have the RTX 280 TI and a ROG PG27U 4k UHD monitor. I have the problem where my games just show up without HDR unless I use the volume control (then they look amazing until the volume display fades away) or hit the windows key, if the game is running in a borderless window. Once the game is the only thing on the screen, HDR turns off again. It's so annoying and disappointing.

It's def a windows problem, I grabbed a LG 27GN750-B in 2020 used HDR and thought maybe its because its a HDR 400 panel so then I grabbed a second monitor the LG 27GL83A-B a few months ago its a HDR 600 panel should be much better. when ever I turn on HDR on either monitor end up turning it right back off everything gets super gray and blownout in Destiny 2 to the point where you cant see anything in supposedly well lit areas and Dark areas in caves lose definition here it is 2021 and were still waiting on a fix Well for some odd reason streaming from Netflix & Disney+ seems to work with HDR correctly😭

i have a
ACER VG270U P 27inch 144hz HDR monitor whenever i enable HDR through windows 10 it also appears washed out :/

I have the LG38GL950G. I was having trouble getting AC Odyssey to switch to HDR but i finally got it to work. I enabled HDR in windows settings. Went to Nvidia control panel and set my refresh at first to 60hz, 10bpc, 422 color format. Then i booted up the game and went to the settings and turned on HDR in the game and it stayed on. I then tested it at 120hz using the same color format and it stayed on also. So I would try doing that and see if that works.

Mi Monitor 27, Win10 desktop/explorer HDR washed out, MKV videos in VLC, PotPlayer and MPC washed out.
But HDR on YouTube and Games works great.

Whenever I enable HDR the output on my LG C7 looks either grayed and washed out or a jumble of weird inverted colors of lines and static.

is it just me or is everyones HDR making the screen flicker got static lines running through the screen even the screen goes off and on like its a bad cable but i just replaced it so it cant be.

yeah right the problem is with windows and not with your display.

I have the Samsung LC49RG90SSEXXY 4(" HDR monitor, which is DisplayHDR 1000 and I get this washed out look. :/ Also, changing the picture mode and adjusting contrast doesn't fix it for me. So that's crap. Good find though for your monitor, and nice work posting it for others!

Found any new solutions? I have a C9 70" HDR using for Windows. RDR2 looks amazing. Most others games won't work with HDR (Unless I click my volume overlay, and then briefly games look much better, then it turns off)
Pretty frustrating... Downloaded Hitman 2 just to test HDR and even with HDR turned on in graphics settings, it doesn't even work in game.

use adaptive sync mode always "ON" setting you monitor..and AMD driver vga card then colour temperature 7000 and finaly brightness 25, work for me
