Easy Trick To Fix HDR In Windows 10 and Windows 11

So you just bought a brand new #HDR monitor to play some awesome games and this feature is not working or not showing in the windows display settings... saying "Not supported"... Well, probably your upset like I was, no worries... we can fix this.

My friend. 5000 videos and websites on Windows 11 and HDR and YOURS was the only one that solved the issue. I dont even have an LG Monitor - I have a TCL 4K television I am using as a monitor. I had tried *everything*. But flipping the HDMI port to a different mode completely fixed my issue. THANK YOU.

Fixed my issue with my Onn tv...used hdr for a long time on it all of a sudden today just switched off, racked my brain going through all the settings until I found this video thanks a lot. Settings > TV Inputs > HDMI Mode for any other Onn users out there.

I had that problem on a Samsung TV, and there wasn't a specific HDR setting, BUT there is a setting called HDMI UHD color, that has to be turned on for each HDMI port hooked up to anything UHD. Once I changed that setting, Windows recognized the TV as HDR.

I don't think I would have found it without your video pointing me in the right direction, but anybody with a Samsung TV from a few years ago is not going to find an HDR setting, and can't use HDR effectively or at all without changing this setting. You also fixed my Amazon Fire TV stick at the same time.

this worked with my RCA Roku 50" HDR10 TV.... go to settings/tv inputs/ select computer input/ i changed hdmi mode from auto to standard and no problems anymore

My monitor doesn't have that option (XZ322QU V3.) It does have an HDR option which makes everything HDR and it's just to bright overall and I still can't turn it on in Windows so it's a software issue.. What's odd is it worked before I had to reinstall Windows 11 again.

i turned on some compability mode on my samsung smart tv trough the TV settings for all hdmi ports and that enabled HDR

When I enable HDR on my LG it shows a bunch of white noise in vertical strips across the monitor. Any ideas?

Nice! On my roku tv I was able to find this similar setting that worked to keep hdr on. Settings>Tv inputs>HDMI 1>HDMI Mode>Standard. The roku software applies this setting to one input, so if you want hdr on every input, you have to repeat this setting process if hdr is not turning on automatically.

Every time I update my laptop, there is always an issue. I don't understand why this keeps happening. The latest update has caused 2 issues so far. I can't open HDR, and Dolby sound disappeared.

Can't do this turned on HDR and screen is black for two damn days and no fixed. Tried pulling hdmi. Tried everything and no fix.

I'm losing my damn mind. I was told HDR worked better in Windows 11, so I upgrade because HDR stopped working in EVERY game except Doom Eternal and Guardians of the Galaxy. Not a single other one will work, no matter what I try. That's still true, and its still true as of this video. HDR monitor = waste of money because it BARELY WORKS ON PC and it has gotten WORSE over time!!!!

Bro, I have asus rog zephyrus g15 2022 model, on their website it says that hdr supported, but in settings its showing stream hdr supported use hdr not supported, my laptop have amd r7 6000 series and rtx3060. Please help me to fix it.

I have LG GL850 Monitor, it supports HDR.
Tried your trick, Yes it does now show me the HDR option in youtube and plays it. But the desktop is washed out.
NON-HDR is way sharper in colours than the HDR in same video. And the desktop is always washed out.
