LMAO! I remember working at wallyworld. the alarm would go off with each rumble of thunder and lightning strike. But never go off when a homeless person would walk out with steaks in their pockets and a bottles of wine in their coat. Great system. But the store manager came up with a great way to get that money back; he falsely accused employees of stealing $5000 each from their registers. Which as we all know is impossible, but he got away with it. Finally, he was caught and forced to work in a Walmart in central Mexico.

This discussion section reads like a tip exchange for thieves.

So it doesn’t work with normal bar tags?

First off, I don't steal... never have and never will.

That said, everyone gets "caught" by these systems from time to time, usually when they fully paid for the item that set it off. I simply keep walking when I set them off. I know I paid and I'm not going to stand there and let some employee look through all my stuff while everyone else gives me weird looks thinking I may be a thief. Nope, I'm walking straight to my car and leaving. If they try to physically detain me they better be ready for an assault charge. I've done this probably 10 or so times in my life and, so far, no one has come after me. They've asked me to stop a couple times but I just politely said no and kept walking.
