I’ve also been keeping my ‘81 and older cents. My thinking and my question to you if the government ever stops producing cents will they lift the restrictions for melting or scrapping, great video, thanks bro, keep stackin

Ive been seperating my copper pennies and silver coins from my change for about a year now, and so far ive only found 60 copper pennies and 2 silver quarters. If you want to stack these coins, i recommend coin roll hunting. I'd be doing it but i dont have the funds

Copper is actually a base metal because it is so abundant. But I love copper and looking for error dates.

This is my favorite copper cent video I’ve seen, I’ve seen a lot! Wise words, well done 👍

Great content! I’ve been collecting copper in an ammo box just to hold onto. I bought a cheap coin sorter than separates copper from zinc based on weight.

I love copper, period. I gave my daughter a beautiful copper pitcher that my dad had collected as scrap metal. She still puts fake arrangements in it. She has some great pieces of copper that we picked up for good prices at the flea market. I love pewter as well, but I buy silver right now. I do have a very heavy can of pennies, and I have them separated by the years, so they are easy to find.

Great video! I wrote to the US mint asking about the penny’s purported demise. They have no plans to cease production until Congress changes the law. But I suspect that’ll be sooner rather than later. Save (hoard) on, my friends!

My brother would save all the wheat pennies he could find when he was a kid. He would have been 63 this year.😢 one day, my youngest brother took all his wheat pennies and bought candy with them...I will never forget how angry my older brother was. Everytime I find a wheat penny I think of my brother. He was always into precious metals, and baseball cards.

I went to my local Fifth Third and got 20 rolls of pennies that were ALL copper. In fact, I found 132 wheat cents in those rolls. I was thinking of just dumping the remaining copper pennies, but I think now I’ll use them to start my copper collection.

Some 1982 Pennies are copper 3.1 grams
If you weigh them you can differentiate between the two.

been pulling copper pennies for 20 years👍have thousands of them🤣💥💥i don’t melt anything, and it’s going to take me a long time to search them for numismatic examples before that day ever comes🤣🤣🤣🤣

Keeping all copper pennies is a no brainer especially when hunting a box for wheaties of course keep that copper. Great video GA. 👍

What I don't understand is that why melt them? The government already guarantees their weight and purity. Also some may have a numismatic value.

I'm rolling up copper pennies and currently have 59 rolls. I'm also rolling up the zinc pennies, separating them by Lincoln Memorial and Union Shield, because the price of zinc is steadily rising too. But no matter what happens to the price of zinc or copper, they retain their face value.

And most people don't know the history of American coins, but there was a time in the early to mid 1800s where our copper cents were actually the size of quarters. I wish our cents were larger coins again.
