I have the PAL release of Parodius Da! (titled: Parodius: Non-Sense Fantasy) and the megaphone yelling in that one is actually translated (though I don't know if the localisation team were having a laugh of their own) into phrases like 'GOT A STINKFOOT' and 'SHAVING IS BORING'. Pretty hilarious in any case.

The Artwork on SFC games is always stunningly amazing!

Fun Fact about Psycho Dream: the composer of the game, Michiko Naruke, also composed the soundtracks for the majority of the Wild Arms' series.

Watching this in 2022, Spriggan Powered is going for around $1, 000.00 AU and they talked about picking up games for $10.00 US man how times have changed.

I love all of the guests that you bring on your show man, 3 years subbed and not a single ounce of regret! Of course Reggie will ALWAYS be my favorite, but John's sense of humor is hilarious.

I love the Goemon (Mystical Ninja) series. I think it's one of the essential import series, because it has like 30 games, most of which haven't left Japan, but are mostly pretty easy to play for anyone, and are tons of fun. If you weren't aware, there's a 4th installment for the Super Famicom as well, called Ganbare Goemon Kirakira Douchuu: Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Wake. It plays mostly like the second one, only there are four characters, and you have to play as a different one in each world, and then play the final one together. Definitely worth picking up if you liked the second one. Or if you like fun overall.

Japan has so many amazing Super Nintendo games that we never got. I made a list of more games!

There is no Mode 7 in Spriggan Powered. It is Mode 1. Mode 7 has very limited use, mostly suitable for F-Zero or Pilot Wings-like games, and RPG overworld maps, but very rarely used in actual gameplay in games of other genres. In other genres it is usually only used for a level or a boss, not the whole game.

New to your channel, about a month now, and I love all of your videos. One thing I love about your intros is that you give equal spotlight to everyone who works with you, even when you are in the pictures/videos you may be off to the side. It shows how much you care about everyone you work with and you give them plenty of attention. Good on you man!

Great video! My favourite retro console and I do have many SFC imports but was pleasantly surprised and pleased to be introduced to a few nice looking games that I'd never even heard of such as Zig Zag Cat :)

FINALLY Someone talked about Gundam Wing Endless Duel! That game is friggin' awesome!! It's one of my absolute favourite fighting games ever and it totally deserves a mention!
Same goes for Super Bomberman 4, that's a great Bomberman game!

One more thing, that thing in the background in Spriggan Powered isn't Mode 7, the Genesis and the Turbografx could totally do that...

Always looking for some good imports, keep them coming! I'm one of the few suckers who actually imported a SFC like 15 years ago before I realized you could just mutilate your SNES to make SFC games work *shrug*. Still worth it, the SFC has a cool box and controllers with like a foot and a half cords on them (obviously better equipped for a small Japanese dwelling, but not a bad if you play games on a desk with the console less than a few feet away). Suggestions of games to check out: Taekwon-Do (menu navigation may require some gamefaqs help), and Popeye: Ijiwaru Majo Seahag no Maki. Anyway, great video!

Thanks for this great video. 25 years ago it was common practice for video game shops or even individuals to remove the notches from a Super Nintendo. As Super Famicom games were commonly sold here and I had quite the collection, which I unfortunately failed to keep. A couple of years ago I bought a used loose SNES system and I immediately removed the notches so I can play my current small collection of SF games.

Every time I hear John Riggs I think John Riggins from the 1980s Washington Redskins. :)

Videos like this one are especially useful for finding awesome games if you're using a Retron5 and can find translation patches for your Famicon games. That way you can play them as if they were imported to the US. One game I'd like to mention is Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen which, if it was ever released in America like Nintendo Power said it would once upon a time, would've been known as Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters. This was probably the best Godzilla game before Xbox and PS2 titles like Destroy All Monsters Melee, Save the Earth and Unleashed were ever a thing, but unfortunately it was a Japan exclusive...
