Anytime I am stuck in traffic I have your voice in my head. “Ah yes they put a merge before a diverge.” Lol

I have to admit that it's one of the most satisfying series to watch. Especially after trying to play this game by myself

Imagine the Devs of this game watch these videos and secretly decided to not make an undo button until Matt goes a whole video without mentioning the undo button

As a person from a tiny 2 lane town who has personally driven through Birmingham, Alabama, it is pretty intense. The ramps are like roller coasters except you can’t throw your hands in the air for excitement!

I lost it when he called it a "squareabout"

Not sure if it is intentional or not - but his apparent inability to see that those shapes are clearly supposed to represent factories, forests, etc. is a hilariously engineer trait.

"Today I would try and use extreme segregation. No more roundabouts, no more junctions." Immediately makes a triple roundabout then changes it to a single roundabout.

Fwiw, I live in Birmingham, AL. That "audacious diverging windmill design" is (not so) affectionately known as, "malfunction junction". It was recently updated and operates slightly better now.

RCE Translations Dictionary: Freeways Edition

Wooden Stop Signs - Sewers
Flying Saucers - Car Park / Parking Lot
Gray (Something British?) - Mountains
Three Eared Rabbits / Piano Store (I think he says both) - Factory

(This is W.I.P. as he didn't talk about obstructions much this episode.)

You know that your city’s doing something right when the RCE loves your interchange design ❤️

Draws the most beautiful interchange framework– “I know it’s a bit messy”

fun fact! the interchange at 9:57 was actually redone a few years ago, and it's even more bonkers now lol

In Atlanta there is a intersection that everyone calls spaghetti junction and this game always reminds me about it.

I have to say, this Moscow interchange is not that bad. I drive here like 5 years already. Two times a day. It is not the best option, but it is working.

It's weird seeing familiar intersections in photos especially from the air

In the US we do not share your enthusiasm for the roundabouts, kind of like the metric system we’re still not ready for it😅. I have been binge watching your videos for a few weeks now and I have to say you have opened my eyes to the wonders of the roundabout and I will do my part to spread the word!

I think it needs (in addition to undo and erase), vector drawing. So you'd be able to adjust the curves to be more smooth or more tight, and they'd be proper curves, not wonky hand drawn zig-zaggy things that artificially reduce your efficiency with the same design. Also I think if you really want to do it well, you'd probably design it first in something else (like a vector drawing program), so you can slip in bridges you didn't think about at first and generally not lose focus with what you were thinking. That last part is helpful for lots of things, like writing an outline or overview before writing something out, or doing a sketch before a drawing, or a storyboard before an animation.
