0:49 `lsof /var/log/syslog` does return a non-zero exit code. Great reason to have an exit indication as part of your prompt!

Just randomly got this video recommended and was like "oh nice, I've heard of lsof and seen it in many scripts".
I was quite pleased with the quality and structure of the video - just very clearly and down to the basis of it without much stuff around it or even "power using" it with overwhelming awk scripts and such .. :)
And I only then discover you've got only five subscribers!

I'm probably not in your typical target audience any more, but you've earned that subscription! There's nothing i would change in that video. Congratulations!

Thanks for the video! One thing I would like to mention is that the captions are nearly always blocking your commands when typing commands near the bottom of the screen. I am watching usually watching on tv so I don't know how to move the captions out of the way.

Keep on rocking dude! Your videos are golden! 💪🏻

wow, it's been a long long time since I have seen such small pieces of cli wisdom... but I was glad because even after years and years of command line foo my first command is tldr "command" and since I'm not a linux pro, always glad to see someone who actually knows what he (or she, naturally, Linux space be full of women) 's doing. welcome stranger

Wow, what a great video on such a great command. I wish it was this simple to get this kind of information in Windows (something is always locking something in that dang OS)!

Really good video! I've been using Linux for years, just not needing to do much of the file management things, so I've never learnt lsof. This will be really helpful.

You mentioned a cheat sheet?

dude!! I din't know lsof could do that. I 've only used it to see what process is open on a given port.
