I grew up during the Cold War, in other words, I’m old. For the first time in my life, information outlets like this one, have attempted to show all sides of a conflict in all their complexities. It’s encouraging. I hope that the illumination of how the foolishness of our foreign policy coupled with the incestuous relationship between corporate profiteers and government will bring about a paradigm shift. I’m cynical by nature and even more so by experience, but I do see a glimmer of hope

My Grandfather died in WW2, he left his three kids and wife. My dad grew up without the blueprint of fatherhood (don’t worry he did a fantastic job without the blueprint, other people did not have that happen. Wars cause problems for generations not just during a year long war! It’s generations people always forget this, hey the war is over but the problems have just begun! In 2022 we should be able to use words and not bombs to solve problems.

So glad I watched this. I had an idea the situation wasn’t as black and white as it appears but hadn’t really looked into it until today. Thank you Russel for putting things into perspective. I do get pissed off with people blindly supporting Ukraine as if they are totally innocent in this struggle and Russia 100% evil. This is clearly not the case, and things are far more complex. No surprise on the covert US involvement!

I don't want to be interpreted as a Putin apologist, but when all of the media and government institutions whom I have zero trust in push a certain narrative, I'm inclined to start thinking the complete opposite is actually going on.

I am very sad and worried that a video with this title and arguments is so popular. It's so easy to put forward these arguments, and then it is so hard to explain why they are wrong.
People are angry with the system and actively fighting against the system. The problem is that this system among its many evils, also protects them from bigger evils, like anarchy, dictatorship and other external enemies, such as China and Russia.

If you believe you are fighting "them" by not believing what "they" want you to believe, just know that, if "they" really exist, "they" hold the keys to power, and if you destroy the system, you will just give "them" more freedom to take more from you. And there's no limit to what "they" can take once the system is gone, including basic human rights.

Finally someone is stating the obvious and saying it without fear of being silenced. Nothing is ever as black and white as the media would like us to think. There are so many underlying issues. And yes! The greed and monopolizing of resources has always been the primary objective of foreign influencers.

I have family in Russia and what you have explained is very much in line with what my cousin told me. It’s very complicated that’s for sure! One thing that is true is that many Russians do not want this war and are extremely saddened by it. I’m Canadian and have been sickened by what has been happening in my country in terms of leadership. I completely agree that we must be vigilant about protecting our own democracy. My heart breaks for the innocent people of Ukraine that are basically the collateral damage of governments making decisions without conscience.
