Thanks for acknowledging that people are tightening up on their spending lately. Maybe you can do a video that highlights Pokemon investments on a smaller budget say $100. Appreciate the content.

The best tip for me to learn was to buy singles. Opening packs can be really fun but after a certain point you're so unlikely to get the cards you actually want that it's better to just get singles. Also it's not always a good idea to collect based off what everyone else thinks. Buying what you like is key to enjoying what you have

I honestly did that first tip with the charizard UPC. When it first came out I was so hyped about it. Then the day I got it through a trade the hype wasn’t there anymore. That being said leaving emotion out of it has helped a lot! Knowing what kind of collector I want to be has helped a lot too which I’m pretty sure that’s one of your past tips too!

Thanks vault, solid advice, nice to see a YouTuber pushing for people to stay in their lane rather than encouraging people to jump in with 2 feet. Great content as always, love the channel 👌🏻 the realist

A friend asked me the other day how do I choose what to buy. I based my decisions on 2 things, room to expand value and stuff that I like. I said the exact same words "if everything crash at least I'll have fun opening the boxes" 😅

I recently started switching up my collecting style after striking out consistently on packs other than Zenith, I’m looking more into singles that catch my eye and I can grade or are unique such as alt arts or EX cards from the Black and White and X&Y era, something about those cards are so underrated! Appreciate all your insight into the market and TCG as always Sean!

I’ve been taking advantage lately and buying up all the charizards I wish I had as a kid

All in for the “buy what you like” plan. I’ve been collecting reverse holos from legendary collection. Any value is great but they are just beautiful cards to me.

Perfect Example/ I bought (2) Sealed Galar Pal mini Tins box’s $100 each. Comes with 1 Evolutions pack($20) and a Sword and Shield Base pack($5) and there’s 10 tins in each box total value $250 😮

What you talked about realizing your gains is what I go through. All the “what ifs” start playing out, hard to fight those thoughts.

Buying high and selling low seems like simple bad business, but I do understand where you're coming from. I truly think these tips are golden. You obviously know what you are doing bro. I'll not buy based off emotion, for sure 😉And if there is a lot of something, one day, that won't be the case anymore, so there is and always will be value, very true. Pro Tips!! 🔥

Just bought a sealed 4 box case of the Charizard UPC last week for $90 a box. Can't beat it in my opinion, just going to stick it in the closest for a long time. Every time I see Evolving Skies ETBs at Walmart I pick up a few. It could be dumb but I have about 35-40 ETBs stashed away from the last several months.

Great video Vault. I've been back into the hobby for almost a year now and truly find your videos helpful in my Pokémon investing portfolio. I feel that buying the cards you enjoy for your personal collection will always make you happy. Buying sealed under MSRP should always generate profit after 2-3years. Finally if investing in graded slabs always aim to buy grade 10 which ever grading service you use. Again thanks again mate 🤘

This is solid advice! I recently started collecting again and I keep myself to a $100 monthly budget and only buy trainer/galarian gallery singles and also noticed that the prices are ridiculous when the sets first come out.

P.S. has anyone ever told you that you look like Ward Cameron from Outer Banks? LOL

I have roughly 50 boxes of ES. I also have about 12 ETBs. I’m not selling them any time soon. I had a few more and sold some to recover most of the cost to buy them all.

I would love to see a video where you walk through what your typical PSA submission prep looks like. For example, how do you decide which cards to send in.. do you look at multiple of the same card.. are you usually just sending in one. Do you have someone do it for you instead. Etc. I think there are a lot of people who watch PSA return videos, see 10s and think it's easy.. then they do it and get all 8s. Are there returns that you've gotten that haven't been show were it was way different (both positive and negative) than what you expected.

First-time watcher and New Subscriber! Thank you for the information! Enjoyed it! Curious, I saw that Marnie box at my LCS, should I pick it up? I wasn't really sure what direction you were going when you mentioned it. Thanks again!

I think the most important thing is not to forget to have fun. Of course we're talking a lot of money here, but what really makes a fan? A fan loves the feeling of opening packs, if only to see the artwork of all cards, even the common and uncommon. Holding the cards in your hands. Be happy about cards that don't have the highest value but that you like very much. Pokemon takes us into a dream world that makes us happy and lets us forget everyday worries. And aren't joy and contentment part of a good life? People enjoy different things > and our community enjoy Pokemon :)
