I agree. It IS that simple. If you have trouble keeping things sealed, buy pristine/mint condition sealed products so that it'll discourage you from opening it.

GREAT ADVICE.
I am fairly new to pokemon. Love ripping packs. But starting listening to you and a few others on YouTube. Want to invest. Started realizing booster boxes are the way to go.
This is exactly what I wanted to hear.

I do just this. Every time a new set comes out I buy a case. Try to keep the price under $600. Sometimes if there's a set I really like I might buy two cases. Then I set it and forget it!

It would be nice if Colin had a video on “ The long term hold and alcohol, do they mix “ ?

My friends have asked me about Pokemon investing and hopping in on it and I’ve told them it’s nothing like investing in the stock market even though it seems like it and this is exactly why lmao. So hard to hold and not open

You only profit if you sell. You may want to factor in selling fees, taxes, etc into your profit estimations. Not to mention you would had to have bought at the best time for each set, and held for five years. Close to no one actually did that. I’m all for the collecting/investing discussion, but the realities of selling things should be included.

Funny that this video popped up cause this exactly what i intend to do.
And i buy singles to complete my sets anyway so have the patience.

Its much better to diversify sets because the growth spurts will be more consistent. Buying something thats already in demand may still go up, but the gain may be lower percentage wise.

I was thinking of maybe holding 2-3 of the same box, but have one for 5 years and the other for 10.
I just need to make the space for it. Climates pretty humid here so will need to find a safe space there too.

Difference is in that era, it wasn't overhyped and over printed. Stuff now will go up, but not to the extreme these are.

Honestly I think we all generally spend more money opening packs for every set release than the cost of a booster box. This is doable.

Honestly, I don't like the sets in Scarlet and Violet. I do like 151 but that's the set that got me back in to cards, well that and the chase Charizard from Obsidian Flames. The gamestop close to my house was selling Crown Zenith ETB's for $63 Canadian. I couldn't resist. I bought some. The truth is that I will likely open most of the ETB's I purchased with my kids. When they're not with me, I'm disciplined but i love the look on their faces when they pull something great.

Do you think PSA chase cards are good investment as well? (I know it may depend on the specific card, but let's assume they are the desired cards of each set).

You always hear now is the time to buy...well 2 months ago was definitely the biggest time. There were so many deals on sealed product and certain singles were decent price. Someone could have doubled to tripled there $ within 2 months. Maybe even 4x. So many deals have dwindled away and singles have blown up.

Where does someone find a booster box for 100$? Granted I'm fairly new, but they all seems to be 150+ CAD shipping included. Or are your prices in USD, which means 137CAD per box?

@ThePokeOffice hi! I just started like 4 months ago to collect pokemon. So far I'm completing S&Sh set of etb's. After I'm thinking of getting all bb. So what i wanna ask you. Would you buy for 2400$ the whole set of s&sh bb or would you invest 2400$ into s&v bb?

My Top 3 of SV:

1) 151 (god pack)
2) Paldea E (Fishing with Wifu)
3) Twilight (Greninja)

Great video. Yes everything is going up with Pokemon! The children who loved gambling have grown up and already passed it on to their lil children too. The money is there.

Excellent video bro with very good information and analysis as always. Sometimes it is difficult to decide what to start with when investing in Pokémon cards, but most of them are such good sets that there are almost always profits. Keep it up bro, I'll be watching your next videos. PS: the codes looked good as always, although this time I didn't catch any and thanks for the effort anyway. Greetings.

Great advice, do you think buying sleeve booster packs are worth to invest?
