The reverse elevator actually is a very good representation of the elevator thought experiment, which is tied to the theory of relativity. It's not stupid, it's actually genius. And btw, it's probably even more trippy in VR. One of the things I want to build.

Another note on the overcomplicated button: the diamond should be thrown at a wooden pressure plate, so it would actually make redstone pulse (afterall, sending a redstone pulse is actually the main feature of the button). Probably with some way to retrieve an item from this plate, like hopper or air fan. And this redstone pulse would trigger the dispenser :)

That item-flipping machine lends itself well to trolling. Imagine the second-to-last ejector suddenly rotating 90 degrees so that the item gets tossed back to the beginning.

the self rotating one (3:28) is actually a very useful tool to use in skyblock expert since the water wheel breaks and there is no other way to get rotation

Honestly building the first one on a server sounds funny as heck, though maybe add a multiple input blocker (don’t know proper redstone term) so people can’t flick it over and over again to break it.
