You could have used a zombie in the day light sensor one. When it gets damaged a sculk sensor (maybe callibrated) detects it and water is dispensed along with a potion to heal the zombie. Wool can be added to block sound of dispenser (for versions below 1.20 lol)

For the machine that touches grass, you could just have a piston that moves up and down over a grass block. I mean, the only requirement was for it to touch grass.

For the resetting daylight clock, you could use two hopper timers, using the second timer to disable signal from the first timer while it resets

The single instruction you should have used for the CPU is SBNZ. While not particularly easy to code for, you can design a general computer with this single instruction, and it is well defined with redstone signal strength encoding.
