She got off easy if you asked me. Iguanas was not only giving her clear hints it didn't want to be touched, but it also didn't bite her finger off. Iguanas are absolutely capable of causing wounds that require stitches, ESPECIALLY for someone so young

As a long time reptile owner, lizards hate their tails being touched. Pet them on their backs or heads but not the tail unless you want a whipping or a “dropped” aka self detached tail.

As a reptile enthusiast myself, I have held wild iguanas before. It is okay to do so as long as the reptile doesn’t show signs of aggression or defensiveness. If you are going to be around these giant creatures please don’t let your children! It could endanger them

These are an endangered and protected species of iguana and you could get a $500+ fine for touching one, but also don’t let your kid touch wild animals or anybody for that matter and don’t feed wild animals out of your hand also make sure to wash the cut very well because they can carry diseases

Iguanas actually have a third eye above there head to danger like to see birds that are gonna pick them sometimes if you scare them they have a strong tail can whip you and trust me they hurt and bite all the time so never disturb or try to play with as they will identify you as a threat
