We had an alligator lizard get inside our house. I tried to pick it up to take outside and it wanted to eat my hand. It was tricky, but I gently grabbed her and got her back outside. They’re a little bit fierce, love it.

Alligator lizards can get big and they're mean. My dad, brother, and I caught one when I was like 8. It was easily 12 inches with tail(which is the biggest they can get I think). This mf tried to bite us so many times. Good thing this one looked to be small. Getting bit by one hurts, my brother would know since the one I was talking about eventually did bite him.

there’s a little lizard stuck in my room, I name him beau ( pronounced like bow) and made a little habitat. From going around my room to find stuff for his box, and then to doing wallpaper, flooring, and carpeting. 😍

Male lizards use a variety of methods to attract a female's attention. They bob their head vigorously or display their brightest colors or best features. The green anole lizard inflates a rust-colored throat sack, called a dewlap, to win over the lady of his choice, sometimes keeping up this display for hours. Red-headed agamas are African lizards with brown skin. But when the male needs to make sure others see him, his head turns fiery red and his body and tail change to a bright, shiny blue. Other males may fight with each other until the weaker one gives up.

Most female lizards lay soft, leathery eggs and then call it a day—they don’t stick around to protect the eggs from harm or keep them warm. Fortunately, the newly hatched lizards are able to take care of themselves right away, without the mother’s help. Of course, there are exceptions to soft eggs and lack of care in the lizard world!

When I was 5-7 I was a hunter for lizards in my dad’s backyard. Every time I found one, I’d keep it as a pet. This one lizard I named Gregory the 2nd was 1 of my favorites. I feed him, clothed him, and even gave him little pats on the head. All of a sudden, he died for no reason at all. R.I.P. Gregory the 2nd 🫠
