Fall Food Foraging

Food for days. Hickory nuts, beech nuts and wild apples are aplenty in mid-late fall. Twenty minutes gathering will yield plenty to eat. I also find a "Fairy ring" A large circle of mushrooms that is said to posess magic powers. I don't talk about that, though :/ Timelapse sunset at end is a nice conclusion.

Hickory nuts are delicious but a lot work! Those little crabapples are great made into jelly! Thanks for a fall culinary trip!

Another so satisfying video to watch! Mushroom Ring! Time lapse! "... 'Somebody steals my camera..."__To BE Continued! BTW "Roethlisberger", our long gone in mid October garden spider's egg sac (that she had secured on the since expired hydrangea branch had been clipped) was safely "planted" near dormant Golden Rods by Your advise, Chris! In the Spring-- wind aided spiderlings?! ...To Be Continued?!)

When I think of fairy ring, I think of the edible Scotch bonnet (Marasmius oreades). I did not know Amanita sp. @ 3:04 grows in ring pattern also

Wow! That's the biggest mycelium ring I've ever seen! Most I've seen a much smaller. That thing must be really deep and is quite possibly hundreds of years old! Absolutely LOVE your content!

Hi Chris, do you happen to know anyone in south Jersey who is willing to teach foraging (to me)? This is something I have always wanted to learn but don't trust learning it from a book or the internet. I am always on the looking for foraging teachers in the area but no luck. Thanks!
