Love the English name death cap. The german name roughly translates to "tuber leaves mushroom". Death cap is way nicer because the name includes your fate if you eat one. Even a small piece is enough to enroll you on the liver transplant list. There is no antidote!!!

Do not listen to this man! There are multiple look alikes, this edible mushroom also Staines yellow the same as it’s toxic counterparts. Also depending on your genetics it’s scientifically proven not everyone will smell the same smell. Some people smell almonds or nothing at all which makes the horse mushroom quite difficult to ID compared to more unique ones.

Young horse mushrooms and yellow stainers also have white gills until they mature, the exact same as the death cap aka amanita phalloides

Identification keys have a few more steps. This video seems irresponsible. You could hope for a find to be what you're looking for and imagine that toxic mushroom smells like anisette.

I found some in ca with pinkish caps. Same leathery type similar to field mushroom.
